D-Luciferin is the substrate of luciferase. In the presence of magnesium ions, luciferase reacts luciferin with ATP to emit yellow green light. It can be used together with small animal imaging system for in vivo fluorescence detection. Ex (nm)=335nm; Em (nm)=530nm.
